Organizations and Clubs
Being involved in extra-curricular activities is a crucial part of your success at LHS! Being involved helps to make friends, make contributions to the school community, build skills and character, and discover your passions in life. Extra-curricular activities also provide critical leadership skills that students require for college and career readiness. From athletics to fine arts groups such as our award winning marching band and theatre productions, to a host of clubs and honor societies, Liberty has something for EVERYONE!

Quiz Bowl and Trivia team compete on "It's Academic" TV show and in 4 Carroll Academic Challenges against the other high schools. Open to all students.

Encouraging creativity, self-expression, teamwork, and friendship, this club will use art to explore further developing artistic skills.

Strives to promote Asian culture and traditions through fun gatherings, fundraisers, celebrations, and service opportunities. Activities may include informal fun outings, celebrating cultural festivals, discussing important historical or cultural topics, or volunteering at cultural awareness events.

A safe, non-judgmental space, offering students a chance for support, fellowship, and other activities decided by the group. All students are welcome.

Learn and play chess. Members skill levels range from novice to advanced. Everyone welcome!

Educate students on the importance of computer science and cyber security. Using the Airforce’s cyber patriot program for club members. Focus on cyber bullying, fishing attacks, password security.

Learn how to crochet and knit! Socialize and learn the art of working with yarn. Share patterns, skills, and knowledge. Make a variety of things out of yarn.

The National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB) promotes respectful, supportive, and rigorous discussion of ethics among thousands of high school students nationwide.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
A huddle group striving to grow spiritually, reaching out to others both in word and deed with the gospel, encouraging and supporting each other through God's word, and seeking accountability to each other. Open to ALL students, not just athletes.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs.

National Organization for Students of Agricultural Education (FFA) ($12 Dues)
A national organization of students interested in agricultural education. The primary aim of FFA is the development of agricultural leadership, cooperation, and citizenship. Members participate in public speaking, skills contests, chapter meetings, award and recognition programs, committees, and community projects. Members will develop personal leadership skills.

Come hang out, play games, and cook with us! Friends group is a place where you can work with our certificate students and get to know them better! This group will also plan Autism Awareness Month activities for the month of April.

Healthy Decisions Club ($5 Dues)
Dedicated to helping students address and discuss issues like underage drinking, impaired driving, texting while driving, drug use, bullying and other destructive decisions.

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
Empower HOSA members in the global health community through education and exposure. Promotes career opportunities in health. Competitions are available.

Promote activities of common interest, as well as cultural and educational benefits for every student. The union will strive to unite and educate students about their cultural heritage by promoting leadership and stressing academic excellence.

Works with the Freedom District Lions Club to assist in service-learning projects throughout the community and provide help to those less fortunate whenever needed.

A safe space for students who identify as LGBTQ+ as well as allies of the LGBTQ community. The club promotes acceptance through the school community and provides a safe, non-judgmental space as a support network.

Maryland Youth & Government is a special program specifically designed to give high school students a hands-on lesson in how government works. Students will learn how to elect their own leaders, debate, legislate bills, and lobby for their vision of a better future.

Mock Trial simulates a real court case, with students acting as attorneys and witnesses to prepare and present a hypothetical legal case in a competitive environment. Participants develop critical thinking, public speaking, writing, and teamwork skills by creating legal arguments, preparing witness statements, learning legal rules, and adapting to unexpected events in the courtroom.

Students step into the shoes of diplomats, representing a country in a simulated United Nations session. While centered on global events, the real benefits lie in developing practical skills applicable to any field. It's a hands-on workshop for success in a professional world that requires effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving with the opportunity for numerous awards throughout the year.

Explore and promote understanding of the different cultures of the world. Students come together in a friendly, celebratory, and educative manner while learning about other cultures.

Share knowledge and experiences and gain knowledge about topics pertinent to Muslim students.

Looks at historical facts surrounding real incidents, explores the paranormal aspects, and compares truth to myth. Students prepare presentations based on research and then discuss with the group.

Take pictures of school events and activities to be sold to raise money for the photography classes to buy new cameras.

Students will enjoy pickleball competitions after school in the auxiliary gym.

Help student athletes strengthen their bodies, learn proper form and technique to avoid injury, and obtain skills to create their own programs. The club will also prepare athletes for the annual CCPS powerlifting competition.

Generate and nurture interest in science and gain science related experience that is not part of the curriculum and encourage students to have fun learning and exploring new things.

Student Government Association (SGA)
The voice of the student body. Advocate with administration on behalf of the student body, participate in projects to benefit the school and the community, and collaborate with other CCPS schools to learn and define leadership skills and advocate for students county-wide. You may be selected as one of the two representatives from your advisory, be elected for a position on the SGA Board, or participate in individual SGA events like Homecoming.

Sources of Strength is a strength-based, peer-led, and evidence-based program designed to promote youth mental health and prevent suicide. It focuses on building resilience by identifying and developing protective factors, like family support, positive friends, and healthy activities, rather than solely focusing on risk factors. The program utilizes a "wheel of strength" model, which includes eight key areas: family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity, spirituality, physical health, and mental health.

Varsity Club (Separate form and $10 Dues required)
Open to athletes who have earned a varsity letter, are academically eligible, and in good standing with the team. Members are encouraged to participate in the interscholastic athletics program, promote school spirit, and support the efforts of the student athletes on and off the field. We will participate in Varsity Club sponsored activities and a community service project. Please obtain a membership form from Mr. Cruz in room 102. Dues are $17 paid by Mon 09/30. This includes the cost for the Varsity Club T-shirt.

Writers share original works of poetry and prose in an environment of follow original thinkers. Members also look at popular authors and analyze their works in a round table discussion. Opportunities are available for writing contests and various workshops.

Design and produce our school yearbook. Gather information and take pictures around school and outside events to document the school year.
