Below is the tryout schedule for Liberty High school athletics for the Fallof 2023. Please note that golf times are to be determined. Please make sure you are registered on FamilyID and have a valid physical uploaded. If you have not done so, you can find the links below. You must be registered with Family ID and have a current physical form on file before you may participate in tryouts. Atheletic fees are not collected until AFTER students have tried out and made the team.

The LionBackers provide funding to support the Liberty athletic programs, promote an atmosphere of good sportsmanship and school spirit, and foster the qualities of camaraderie and leadership within all athletes, parents, and the community.

Homecoming 2024 – For Everything There is a Season
Theme and Spirit Days
· Spirit days:
o Monday – Bikers Vs. Surfers
o Tuesday – Pink Day
o Wednesday – Jersey Shore vs. Jersey Shirt
o Thursday – Theme Day for your assigned Season
o Friday is Spirit Day! Seniors - senior shirts
· Each day in advisory we count the number of students participating in the spirit day. These are turned into points. The class with the greatest number of points earned contributes to the spirit cup. Awards given out each day also for “most spirited” student and staff member.
Decorations – Doors & Windows
· Advisories will be decorating their doors in their Season (Or holidays from that season) category assigned to each grade level.
o 9th – Winter
o 10th – Spring
o 11th – Fall
o 12th – Summer
· Extra-curricular clubs are assigned a school window to paint. These are judged!
Thanksgiving Baskets Food Collection
· We will collect food items to use for our Thanksgiving/Holiday baskets in November and December.
· Students/families are provided a list of items to donate.
· Each item donated by your advisory counts as a point for your class spirit cup.
Homecoming Court
· Homecoming court participants are voted on for each grade during advisory. Winners participate in the parade on Friday before the football game. There are representatives from each Grade. Nominations and voting the week BEFORE spirit week.
· Senior King is announced at the Pep Rally on Friday.
· Senior Queen is announced at half time during the game.
Pep Rally – Friday, October 4
· Pep Rally will be outside in the stadium (weather permitting) after MOD 4.
· Modified schedule that day
· All students are welcome to attend. We will make plans for CCCTC and other schools to make sure students can be at LHS to participate. Students not in the building MOD 4 are welcome to return. They will sign in at the attendance window in the lobby.
· Pep Rally will be planned by students and include portions for student & faculty participation.
· Spirit Cup will be given to the class that has accumulated the most spirit points during the week. Awards for “most spirited” student from each spirit day, the Spirit Stick given from Mr. Devincent and more!
· Participants from LHS Marching Band, Cheerleaders, every sports team in the parade of athletes, FFA for “Kiss the Critter,” and more!
Parade 4:30 – 5:15 “Little Lions” Parade 5:15 – 6:00 Parade
· Candy will be distributed in a “Trick or Treat” style before the parade begins. Families will be invited to visit the parade in the parking lot before the parade kicks off to get a candy bag from student groups. Little Lions can get their bags of candy before our parade!
· Candy will therefore not be distributed during the actual parade.
· Parade is scheduled 5:15 – 6:00 pm
· All student clubs are encouraged to make a banner and walk in the parade.
· Floats and banners will be judged, and prizes will be distributed.
Football game vs. Winters Mill – 7:00 pm
· LHS Spirit Night! Seniors wear the black senior shirts. All other students come in your best Blue and Gold!
· LOTS of food for sale! Other LHS spirit wear for sale.
· Halftime show will feature the marching band, seniors, and the homecoming court announcement of the queen.
· LHS vs. WMHS!
· Tickets must be purchased ahead of time using Go Fan!
Homecoming Dance – Saturday, October 5 7:00 – 9:30 pm $20 ticket
· LHS Dance will be inside the gymnasium.
· Guest passes available Monday, September 16.
· Ticket price is $20
· 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. Must have entered the dance by 8:00 p.m. Students must present their ticket and ID. No re-entry allowed.
· Plan to dress for the weather! This is a semi-formal event. Gymnasium gets HOT!
· Tickets will be during spirit week at lunches, or after school if not at LHS during lunch. September 30 – October 3. No tickets are sold on Friday, October 4.
